Building More Than Athletes
At Upper Keys Legends, we believe youth sports should be about more than wins, losses, and touchdowns.
Our mission is to use flag football as a vehicle for character development, confidence, and commitment while providing children throughout the Upper Keys with a safe, positive, and inclusive place to learn and compete.
We want every child who participates in our program to leave the field with more than football skills. We want them to become better teammates, more confident individuals, and stronger members of their community.
Why We Exist
Youth sports can teach lessons that last far beyond the playing field.
A child learns to keep trying after making a mistake. They learn how to work with teammates who may be different from them. They learn to listen to a coach, accept responsibility, handle success with humility, and respond to disappointment with resilience.
These are the experiences that help children grow.
Upper Keys Legends was created to provide those opportunities to children in the Upper Keys through an organized, safe, and community-focused flag football program.
Our program serves children from VPK through 8th grade, with opportunities for players of different ages and experience levels to participate.

Players learn the fundamentals of flag football while developing coordination, communication, decision-making, and teamwork.

More Than a Game
Our goal isn’t to create professional football players.
Our goal is to help children become good teammates, confident young people, and responsible members of their community.
Football simply gives us a way to teach those lessons.
Every practice, game, and interaction with a coach is an opportunity to reinforce values that children can carry into school, their families, and their future.
We want our players to learn that:

Creating Opportunities for Every Child
We believe financial circumstances should not prevent a child from experiencing the benefits of organized youth sports.
Upper Keys Legends provides financial assistance and scholarship opportunities to help make participation accessible to families who need support.
Donations and community support help us provide equipment, field access, scholarships, coaching resources, and other costs associated with operating a youth sports program.
Our goal is simple:
Give more children the opportunity to play, learn, grow, and belong.
A Community-Powered Program
Upper Keys Legends is operated by Upper Keys Youth Development Corporation, a Florida nonprofit organization recognized as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
Our program is built around the support of parents, volunteers, coaches, sponsors, donors, and community partners who believe that children deserve opportunities to participate in positive youth activities.
It takes a community to build a strong youth program.
